The LLM Dumbness Gap

Everyone's hyped about LLMs. I get it — they're cool. But also kinda dumb?

Like yeah, they can write passable emails and explain stuff and pretend to code. But the second you push them outside their comfort zone, they hallucinate or break. It's not just edge cases either. It's things humans would never mess up. Arithmetic. Logic. Memory.

Weirdly, that makes them feel more alien than intelligent. It's not like they're slightly wrong. It's like they have no internal map at all, just really good pattern spray.

Still useful. Just... don't forget how weird it all is.
